I am Linh Vuu from Vietnam, working in the Data Science field.
My enthusiasm can be seen when extracting insights from data, leading a team and bringing benefits to businesses.
Work
1️⃣ 2015-2019 (BI): Starting with GeoComply company as a Business Data Analyst in the Business Intelligence (BI) Team, my tasks were to query data, execute reports from MySQL and Elastic Search databases using Python in Jupyter Notebook and visualise data using Kibana. My hard work paid off with a promotion to be a leader to supervise and mentor analysts of the team.
2️⃣ 2019-2024 (DA & AI/ML): I built up a brand-new Data Analytics Team (DA) in GeoComply, from 0 to a team of 12 people, ranging from Interns to Seniors. After training, they analysed data, detected fraud, and proposed solutions to top managers by giving weekly presentations. With the trust gained from the CEO, I am allowed to grow the team taking more responsibilities to cover more products every year. As a result, I became a manager of the Fraud and Compliance Intelligence Team, doing analytics and machine learning (AI/ML) to detect fraud and location spoofing.
Life
📖 I have finished a Master's thesis in Data Science at Liverpool John Moores University (UK), using my research and analytics skills, such as Geolocation Information Systems, Data Structures, Programming Languages, Databases, Machine Learning, Exploratory Data Analysis, Statistics, Business Analysis and Design, and Project Management to examine existing papers and datasets and provide novel results.
🤝 With a passion for sharing my experience, I participated as a mentor at Coder School and as a volunteer at Foreign Trade University, guiding learners and students on how to work in the Data Science field.
🎶 In my free time, I go swimming, read crime novels, play the harmonica and take care of my poodles.

Scientific Report: Data Analysis on Dogs’ Behaviours (Matlab)
It can be seen in daily life that similar to human beings, canines also have emotions, but it is not clear whether each of them shows their emotions differently and whether they are jealous or not. This project explores how different dogs of different genders would behave when they are ignored by their owners based on the data taken from the studies of Prato-Previde et al. (2018). The results revealed that female dogs were more connected with their owners, while male dogs focused more on strangers and the environment.

Location tracking methods such as IP address, Wi-Fi signals, GPS, and GSM are essential for various software and businesses. A report utilising ArcGIS and visualisation tools assesses the accuracy, reliability, and coverage of these methods, finding GPS to be the most accurate and IP address the least. Banking Advanced Authentication System (Python + SQL)
Account takeover happens quite regularly these days. Safruti (2022) mentioned on Forbes that billions of credentials from social media networks, e-commerce sites and financial applications were stolen and sold on the internet. In banking, the threat is even more severe as the loss would be a significant amount of money. To prevent fraud in banking, especially in cases where scammers log into a bank account and spend money illegally, the Account Takeover Detection System is proposed to automatically identify the suspicious login and block the account immediately, so that further fraud activities would not occur.
